Our Silk

Silk is valued for its luster, strength, breathability, and hypoallergenic features, while the quality is based on factors including weight and weave. HARK+HAMMER’s 16mm charmeuse silk is produced in the luxury silk capital of the world, Como, Italy, using time-honored methods of craftsmanship.  Natural.  Renewable.  Breathable.  Beautiful.

Our Printing  

Once the silk is produced, it is digitally printed in Como. This method is the “greenest” option when compared to traditional printing. It uses less electricity, creates 60% less water and industrial waste, while also reducing noise pollution by 60% and thermal energy by 80%. Digital printing creates highly-saturated, photo-quality prints with no limits in terms of colors or designs.

Our Prints

All our prints are one-of-a-kind and exclusive to HARK+HAMMER. Our creative process begins with hand-drawn sketches in LA that are then made a reality in a digital art studio in Italy. We love adding colorful prints to modern silhouettes, and print mixing to express personal style.

Our Construction

When our silk arrives in Los Angeles, it is cut and sewn in a small, woman-owned shop specializing in high-end, small quantity production. Sewing on silk is challenging and requires artisans with specialized training, experience, and an impeccable eye for detail. The result? Flawless finishes both outside and inside each garment.
